Wholesale Pretend Play Toys in Bulk — 14 Categories, 300+ SKUs, MOQ from 100 pcs

TonySourcing is a pretend play toys supplier for importers, wholesale distributors and Amazon sellers. We source from audited toy manufacturers in Chenghai, Shantou — the cluster that makes most of China’s plastic toys — and you get factory pricing, our own QC, and the EN71 / ASTM F963 / CPSIA file before you pay a deposit.

OUR PRODUCT

Product By Category

Fourteen categories, one container. FOB ranges shown for 500–1,000 pcs; wholesale pricing moves with the bands above.

Wooden Large Pretend Kitchen Toys

Toy Kitchens

Two-door standing kitchen with 30+ accessories — sink, hob, oven, utensils. Our Q4 best seller and the anchor SKU of most wholesale pretend play orders.

toy Cooking Sets

Toy Cooking Sets

Pots, pans and utensils, 12–20 pcs per set. The cheapest way to test the category, and the natural add-on to a kitchen.

play food

Play Food

Cut-and-velcro fruit, vegetables and fast food, 20–60 pcs. Bundles with kitchens better than anything else in the catalogue — highest add-on rate we see.

Toy Tea Sets

Toy Tea Sets

15–25 pcs, porcelain-look plastic or tin. Strong in gift and specialty retail, weak in discount channels.

doctor play

Doctor Play

Role-play costume with stethoscope, syringe and instruments. Sells year-round, peaks before school season.

toy Medical Kits

Toy Medical Kits

Carry-case kit, 10–20 pcs. Lower unit price than Doctor Play, better suited to supermarket and discount channels.

Toy Beauty Salon

Vanity and hairdressing sets with light-up mirrors. Higher retail price point, strong with gift buyers, weak on marketplace price comparison.

Toy cash register with scanner

Toy Cash Register

Working calculator, voice chip and scanner. The most requested single SKU in the category — parents buy it for the maths, not the toy. See the full range.

toy Shopping Carts

Toy Shopping Carts

Folding cart with basket and play groceries. Cube-heavy, so pair it with flat items to fill the container.

toy fruits and vegetables

Toy Fruits and Vegetables

Velcro cut-apart sets, 20–40 pcs. Low price, high repeat rate, the cheapest way to lift average order value.

childrens tool box

Childrens Tool Box

20–40 pcs with screws, nuts and a play drill. Gender-neutral colours now outsell the blue-and-red version.

toy tool bench

Toy Tool Bench

Standing workbench with tools and storage. The best-looking piece in the range — buyers use it as the hero image.

Kitchen Little Toys

Childs Cleaning Kit

Broom, mop, dustpan and spray bottle. Trending since 2023 because parents buy it to stop children using the real ones.

Toy Washing Machine

Toy Washing Machine

Working drum with lights and sound. Few suppliers stock it, so it carries a better margin than the rest of the range.

Pretend play toys wholesale — what we supply, and what we are not

TonySourcing is a sourcing office. Not a trading company, and not a manufacturer. We audit the toy manufacturers, negotiate the factory price where you can see it, hold your approved sample as the production standard, and inspect what leaves the line. If a factory is wrong for your order we say so — a bad first container costs both of us more than a lost order.

That distinction matters for wholesale pretend play toys more than for most categories, because this range is wide and shallow: fourteen category families, thin quantities per style, and a different specialist behind each one. A cash register factory does not mould play food. A doctor kit factory does not build kitchens. Buy pretend play toys in bulk from a single manufacturer and you get one strong line and eleven that look like it.

We hold the range together instead. One brief, one sample standard, one inspection report, one container.

And most of what we ship is not one hero SKU. It is the supplies that make a play corner work — the play food, the cookware, the till, the little instruments that turn a kitchen into a shop. That is a supply job, not a manufacturing one.

pretend toys wholesale supply (5)
  • Importers and wholesale distributors filling a mixed container from one contact.
  • Amazon and Shopify sellers building a branded range without building a supply chain.
  • Retail chains and supermarket buyers running a back-to-school or Q4 programme.
  • Preschool, daycare and educational distributors buying dramatic play supplies in classroom quantities.
  • Brands and licensors developing a private label pretend play line.
  • One specification, checked twice. Your approved sample is photographed and signed before bulk starts. Production is measured against that sample, not against a catalogue photo.
  • The certification file up front. Test reports for your target market, in your company name where the lab allows it, sent before the deposit — not after the container is loaded.
  • A container plan, not a price list. We tell you which categories fill cube and which fill value, so freight does not eat the margin on bulky items — and you do not end up with a container of supplies that all sell to the same buyer on the same shelf.
  • A named person. Tony and the toy team answer in English, within 24 hours on working days. You are not relayed through three people and a chat group.

Pretend play toys in bulk — how bulk pricing actually works

Negotiation moves the price less than three structural decisions do. Here is what changes as a bulk order grows.

Order size, per styleWhat changesEffect on unit price
100–499 pcsStock colours, existing mould, standard export cartonList price
500–999 pcsCustom colour box and logo print3–8% lower
1,000–4,999 pcsDedicated production run, fixed colour, custom carton8–15% lower
5,000+ pcsNew mould amortised across the run15–25% lower

The three levers that matter more than the discount

  1. Carton cube. The biggest cost most buyers ignore. A toy kitchen packed two per carton can land materially cheaper than the same kitchen packed one per carton, because you are buying container space, not just units. Ask for both carton configurations and compare landed cost, not FOB.
  2. Mixing bulky with flat. Kitchens, shopping carts and tool benches are cube-heavy. Play food, cooking sets and tea sets are flat and dense. Load them together and the flat items pay for the air around the bulky ones.
  3. Consolidating two orders into one run. Factories quote by volume band, not by how hard you negotiate. If you can bring two orders forward into one production run, ask for the 1,000 pcs price on 800.

TAG

Custom pretend play toys — OEM, ODM and private label

Four things you can change. Most buyers change two.

Structure and mould.

Modify an existing mould or cut a new one. New tooling typically takes 25–40 days and costs USD 1,500–4,000 depending on size and cavity count.

Material and colour.

ABS, PP, MDF, or FSC-certified wood for the wooden line. Pantone matching on painted and printed parts, not "close to".

Branding.

Pad printing, UV printing, laser engraving, heat transfer, woven label, hang tag. We will tell you which one survives a child's hands.

Packaging.

Gift box, window box, display carton, or Amazon-ready FBA carton with FNSKU labels and poly bagging to your spec.

How to choose. Selling on Amazon? Start with UV print on an existing mould — cheapest way to test a design, and you keep the tooling budget for ads. Selling to retail chains? Tooling pays back at around 5,000 pcs, so build the mould into your first order rather than your third.

On OEM versus ODM. OEM means the manufacturer builds to your drawing. ODM means you pick from what the manufacturer already developed and put your brand on it. For a first private label range, ODM on three SKUs beats OEM on one — you get shelf presence before you spend on tooling.

Certification — the file you get before the deposit

This is a test-heavy category, and the paperwork is where cheap suppliers quietly fail.

  • EU: EN71-1 (mechanical and physical), EN71-2 (flammability), EN71-3 (migration of elements), plus phthalates and AZO where applicable.
  • US: ASTM F963, CPSIA, and a CPC issued in your name as importer.
  • Other markets: EN62115 and EMC if the SKU has electronics — cash registers, washing machines, light-up salons all do.

We send the full pack before you place the order. Testing is charged at cost, typically USD 300–800 per SKU, and reports have to be redone if you change factory, material or paint. Budget for it in your landed cost, not as a surprise at the port.

How a wholesale pretend play order runs

  1. Brief. Category, target price, quantity, destination market.
  2. Shortlist. Three to five factory options with FOB quotes, within 3 working days.
  3. Artwork and mock-up. Your logo on a dieline mock-up. You approve before any tooling starts.
  4. Sampling. 7 days, two to three pieces, shipped so you can test with real children.
  5. Sample approval. Sample, colour and packaging locked in writing — this document becomes the inspection standard.
  6. Bulk production. 25–35 days, with weekly photo updates from the line.
  7. Inspection. 10% AQL 2.5 before loading, including a small-parts count. Third-party inspection on request.
  8. Shipping. FOB Ningbo or Shantou, or DDP into your Amazon FBA warehouse.

Why buyers stay with us

  • One contact, both languages. Tony and the team answer within 24 hours on working days.
  • You see the factory. Video walkthrough on request, or come with us in Chenghai or Yiwu. Ask for the factory name and we will give it — we are not protecting a supply chain from you.
  • Money is held against inspection. 30% deposit, balance after you approve the inspection report. Not before.
  • One container, many factories. Consolidate kitchens, play food and tool benches from different manufacturers into a single shipment with one set of documents.

FAQ

No, and that is deliberate. We are a sourcing office in Chenghai, Shantou, working with 40+ audited toy manufacturers. If you want to buy direct from a factory, we will introduce you to the right one and step back. Most buyers do not, because the value is not in the introduction — it is in the audit, the sample standard, the inspection and the certificate file, and those are the three places where a first container usually goes wrong.

From a sourcing office that covers the whole range, or directly from a single manufacturer if you only need one category. For a mixed container — kitchens plus play food plus doctor kits — a sourcing office is cheaper in practice, because you avoid four sets of minimum order quantities, four deposits and four inspection reports. If you are buying a single SKU at 5,000+ pcs, go direct and we will tell you so.

100 pcs per style on stock colours, and you can mix styles and categories inside one container. Below 100 pcs the factory adds a short-run surcharge. For a market test, take a paid sample run of three pieces per style first.

Yes, and most buyers do. A typical mixed container holds four to six styles across two or three category families — usually one anchor item like a kitchen or tool bench, then flat add-ons like play food, cooking sets and tea sets to fill cube. We quote the container as a whole so you can see the freight per unit.

Yes. Educational distributors buy from us in classroom quantities — play food sets, cooking sets, doctor kits and cleaning kits are the usual core, because they map onto dramatic play corners in a classroom. Packaging can be changed to a plain carton with a barcode for institutional buyers, which avoids retail gift-box cost you do not need. Orders like this usually repeat on a school-year cycle rather than a Q4 cycle, so the reorder pattern is easier to plan than retail.

Samples in 7 days, bulk in 25–35 days after sample approval, plus sea freight. 30% deposit to start, balance against the inspection report. T/T, and Alibaba Trade Assurance if you prefer to order through the platform.

EN71-1/2/3 for the EU, ASTM F963 and CPSIA for the US, plus phthalate and AZO reports, and EN62115 plus EMC for anything with electronics. Reports are issued in your company name where the lab allows it. Testing is charged at cost, typically USD 300–800 per SKU.

The ones with high interactive value. Toys that simulate real technology are the current top sellers — a working cash register with a built-in calculator and voice chip sells at a premium because parents read it as teaching maths and social skills. Functional items are easier to sell up than pretty ones.

Both, and the market is moving to gender-neutral colours — teal, white, wood — instead of pink and blue. Girls tend to favour social role-play like tea sets and salons; boys show more interest in tool boxes and workbenches. Stocking neutral colours lets you sell to all children on one SKU and cuts inventory risk.

Different markets search differently, and covering all of them widens your reach: role play toys (most common internationally), dramatic play toys and dramatic play supplies (schools and educational distributors), imaginative play (premium brands), make believe toys (gift and specialty retail), play house sets (consumer retail), and till toys (the British term for cash registers).
